Itinerary

Day 1: Amritsar Railway Station - Amritsar: Local Sightseeing by Car

Morning arrival at Amritsar railway station where our representative will pick up you and transfer you to the best budget-friendly hotel in Amritsar. Check in to the hotel and fresh up, then continue your journey with us, visit Golden Temple, Jalianwala Bagh and Durgana Temple Darshan. Get back to the hotel and in the afternoon visit, Wagha Border (India-Pakistan Beating Retreat Border Ceremony) Amritsar local sightseeing by car on GangotriTravels.com & get back to the hotel in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Amritsar. 

Amritsar- Amritsar historically also known as Ramdaspur, is the second largest city in Punjab, after Ludhiana. It is a major cultural, transportation and economic centre located in the Majha region of Punjab. Amritsar is the economic capital of Punjab. Amritsar is home to Sri Harmandir Sahib, popularly known as "the Golden Temple", one of Sikhism religion's most spiritually significant and most-visited gurudwaras.

Day 2: Amritsar to Katra (266 kilometres/ 6 hours)

Morning check out from the hotel and continue your journey from Amritsar to Katra which takes up to 6 hours after 266 kilometres drive. En route visit Chichi Mata Temple for darshan and pooja. Upon arrival check in to the hotel in Katra, rest of the day is free of leisure. In the evening, you can perform shopping at your own expense. Night halt at Katra.

Katra- Katra is a city that falls under the Reasi district within the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is situated in the foothills of the Trikuta Mountains, where the holy shrine of Vaishno Devi is located.

Day 3: Katra to Vaishnodevi

In the early morning, start your trek from Katra to Mata Vaishnodevi, upon arrival perform darshan, pooja and shopping then back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Katra.

Vaishno Devi- Mata Vaishnodevi is a manifestation of the Hindu Mother Goddess, Devi. The words "Maa" and "Mata" are commonly used in India for mother, and thus are often heavily used in connection with Vaishnodevi. Vaishnavi was formed from the combined energies of Parvati, Lakshmi, and Saraswati. The temple is located in Katra, India.

Day 4: Katra to Srinagar (255 kilometres/ 6 hours)

In the morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel in Amritsar and drive towards Srinagar en route visit Patnitop for local sightseeing by car. Upon arrival in Srinagar, check in to the hotel fresh up and rest of the day is free of leisure. Night halt at Srinagar.

Day 5: Srinagar to Sonmarg: Excursion Tour via Kheer Bhawani Mandir (95 kilometres/ 3 hours)

Morning after breakfast, start your day excursion tour of Sonmarg from Srinagar. En route visit Kheer Bhawani Mandir for Darshan. Upon arrival check in to the hotel in Sonmarg. Later come back to the hotel in Srinagar and overnight stay at Srinagar.

Sonmarg- Sonamarg or Sonmarg, known as Sonamarag in Kashmiri, is a hill station located in the Ganderbal District of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is located about 62 Kilometers from Ganderbal Town and 80 kilometres (50 mi) northeast of the capital city, Srinagar.

Day 6: Srinagar to Gulmarg: Excursion Tour via Tangmarg (60 kilometres/ 2 hours)

In the morning after breakfast start your day excursion tour of Gulmarg from Srinagar and en route visit Tangmarg. Tangmarg local sightseeing by car on GangotriTravels. Upon arrival at Gulmarg, enjoy Gulmarg ropeway gondola ride and sightseeing. Later get back to the hotel in Srinagar, have dinner and overnight stay at Srinagar.

Gulmarg- Gulmarg is known as Gulmarag 'meadow of flowers' in Kashmiri. It is a town, a hill station, and a popular skiing destination. It is located at a distance of 58 km from Srinagar. The town is situated in the Pir Panjal Range in the Western Himalayas and lies within the boundaries of Gulmarg Wildlife Sanctuary.

Day 7: Srinagar: Local Sightseeing

Start your journey after breakfast and visit Shankracharya Temple in Srinagar. Do local sightseeing and visit Mughal Gardens like Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Garden, Chashma Shahi and Pari Mahal. In the evening enjoy the Shikara ride on the famous Dal Lake at least for 1 hour and transfer to a houseboat on the lake. Overnight stay there.

Srinagar- Srinagar is the largest city and the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies on the banks of the Jhelum River, a tributary of the Indus, and the Dal and Anchar lakes. The city is known for traditional Kashmiri handicrafts like the Kashmir shawl (made of pashmina and cashmere wool), and also dry fruits.

Day 8: Srinagar to Pahalgam (100 kilometres/ 3 hours)

Next morning check out from the houseboat in the lake at Srinagar after breakfast and drive for 100 kilometres approximately which would take up to 3 hours to reach Pahalgam from Srinagar. Upon arrival check in to the hotel and freshen up. Later visit Chandanwari, Aru Valley and Betaab Valley sightseeing at your own expense. Get back to the hotel have your dinner and overnight stay at Pahalgam. 

Pahalgam- Pahalgam is a town near Anantnag city in the Anantnag district of the Indian-administered union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is a popular tourist destination and hill station. Its lush green meadows and pristine waters attract thousands of tourists from all over the world each year. Pahalgam is associated with the annual pilgrimage to the shrine Amarnath Yatra. Chandanwari is located 16 kilometres from Pahalgam.

Day 9: Pahalgam to Jammu via Nashri Tunnel (Asia #1) (240 kilometres/ 6 hours)

In the morning check out from the hotel in Pahalgam and start your drive to reach Jammu via Nashri Tunnel (Asia’s no. 1 tunnel). Upon arrival at Jammu, our executive will drop you at the Jammu Railway Station or at your preferred hotel. On return, you’ll get wonderful memories of Amritsar, Golden Temple, Wagha Border, Vaishnodevi, Katra, Srinagar, Sonmarg, Gulmarg and Pahalgam.
